Hugo Brijs – Creeper

Immersive London-based indie artist Hugo Brijs recently released his single ‘Creeper’ and it’s the first teaser off the upcoming album. With this powerful, melancholic and cinematic new release he’s truly established himself a voice to listen to!

This slowly building track comes with a cinematic short film that takes us on a journey through the story behind ‘Creeper’. This soft and colourful, driving alternative pop track is a soaring and powerful one, subtle vocal harmonies liven up the track and make it an exciting listen every time we press play, and again. His warm vocals and great guitar lines help the song stand out from others within his genre. Theatrical compositions give it that bit more confidence, and 70’s rhythm sections make it a welcome throwback to a time more musically eclectic.

Leveraging his experience with film scores, Brijs enlisted The Budapest Scoring Orchestra’s full-string section to enrich the arrangement and accentuate ‘Creeper’s cinematic scale. The narrative of the song is equally captivating as it talks about a femme-fatale gangster entering a bar, engaging in a poker game, and capturing the heart of a simple man.

Semi love-song, semi soundtrack, ‘Creeper’ truly encapsulates the extent of Brijs’ musical know-how. Brijs’ psychedelic flair and contemporary touch cultivate a unique sonic landscape we hope to hear more of on the upcoming album which will be arriving later this year!
