March Round Up

Emma Teufel – Nice Guy

Emma Teufel brings a burst of pure, unadulterated joy with her latest single, ‘Nice Guy’. It is a masterclass in uplifting pop, blending a fun and funky rhythm with a colourful soundscape that feels like a shot of adrenaline for the soul. Teufel’s soft, effortless vocals glide over the track, creating a vibe that is as carefree as it is infectious. It’s the kind of release that turns your living room into a dancefloor, making you want to move like you haven’t a care in the world. Vibrant, rhythmic, and undeniably catchy, ‘Nice Guy’ turns our anger on the pretend nice guys into something we can laugh and smile along to!

Deaf Echo – All But Love

We’re a big fan of the wandering rock sound of Deaf Echo, ‘All But Love’ is my introduction to the band’s sound, which is one I’ve not heard much before. The track’s soundscape plays with stunning vocals and strong punches, it’s a charming dance-driven indie alt rock release with a mysterious late-night vibe. ‘All But Love’ blends pulsing bass lines with sharp guitars and thundering drums and those smoothly powerful vocals. It’s a perfect anthem to get you off your seat and into your legs, Deaf Echo aim to make you move!

MOSAICS – Heaven Knows

We got lost in a stunner of an alternative rock dream with comforting vocals and a grand, arena-ready soundscape. The dream is MOSAICS’ ‘Heaven Knows’, which colours our playlist with an Interpol-esque charm, hazy harmonies and razor-sharp riffs. ‘Heaven Knows’ brings their signature mix of nostalgia and fresh, new energy, and shows that the London-based indie rock outfit won’t be stopping anytime soon capturing hearts across the UK, as they’ve been doing for years.

Foarn – The Weather

Combining powerful indie hooks, influences taken from rock, and a series of funky elements, Foarn created ‘The Weather’. This genre-bending summer anthem is an instantly cathartic release of expressive sounds, amplifying a story told through soft vocals and vocal harmonies. The raw, slow-burning indie track dives into the tension of a relationship that’s constantly shifting, the kind where you’re always tiptoeing around someone you can’t quite read, relatable? Certainly. Pleasant? Not so much. Still ridiculously catchy? Without a doubt!

PET NEEDS – Tour Worn

PET NEEDS’ latest single, ‘Tour Worn’, is a blistering, chaotic masterclass in honesty. Serving as the final teaser for their fourth album, ‘Elbows Out! This Is Capitalism’, the Colchester quartet captures the gritty reality of independent music. The track is strong, noisy, and beautifully frantic, mirroring the “depleted serotonin” and physical toll of relentless touring. By blending the exhaustion of cramped hotel rooms with the exhilaration of the stage, they’ve created an anthem for the “hardest way to make an easy living”. It’s a raw, high-energy reflection on industry survival that proves PET NEEDS are at their absolute best when they’re “absolutely done in.”

Us – Man Ray

If you haven’t met Us yet, prepare for a sonic awakening. Their latest single ‘Man Ray’ is a heavy, chaotic hurricane of punk-blues that feels like a fever dream caught on tape. Fresh off a legendary nine-set marathon at Glastonbury, the band captures that same relentless festival energy here. While the instrumentation is a distorted riot, it’s the soaring vocals that truly stun, cutting through the beautiful noise with razor-sharp clarity. It’s a powerful, surrealist anthem that demands your attention. As they gear up for FujiRock, ‘Man Ray’ stands as the perfect, high-octane handshake for the uninitiated.

Superpanther – Glitter Pit

The warm, bass-driven intro of Superpanther’s ‘Glitter Pit’ make this release listen like an instant hit of caffeine, dopamine, addictive from the get-go. Add a layer of charming vocals to this hazy alternative pop dream, and you’ve got the recipe for what is the introduction to my new musical love. ‘Glitter Pit’ softly beats to the rhythm of my heart, answering my every need through wandering vocals and layered guitar tones that make for a colourful soundscape. I’m into Superpanther and I want more.

Shaina Hayes – Flourish

‘Flourish’ is poetry put to music and told through a voice that sounds like that coming from a nearby dreamworld. Shaina Hayes floats on ‘Flourish’, her sound never touching the ground nor walls, taking us on an alternative folk pop voyage I wish would never end. Luminous sounds and arrangements, those angelic vocals, and a softly thumping soundscape make for a magical release that is almost see-through and utterly addictive. She flourishes on ‘Flourish’ and those listening have no choice but to flourish with her.

GRINFAITH – Riot

‘Riot’ is the heavy, thumping, fast paced punk rock riot track we needed, having been released at the end of last month it’s the perfect launch into a new month of ecstatic releases. ‘Riot’ is also the perfect introduction into French and unapologetically heavy punk rock outfit GRINFAITH, who talk about the reclaiming of minority rights through the uprising of the people in a world that constantly oppresses them on their latest release. Punk in its true and gritty form, something we could use a little more of these days!

AMARGO – Yesterday’s Ghosts

‘Yesterday’s Ghosts’ is the steadily thumping alternative indie release by AMARGO, as the band rock outfit talks about social media addiction and the impact it has on emotions and the ability to feel them the track charges forward, bringing a sound to the feeling of slowly losing yourself in the algorithm. Sharp and stunning vocals talk about the self-loathing that comes with it while deliciously heavy and tearing riffs make this the memorable track its become to be. Distorted guitar sounds create a similar atmosphere to the sounds of personal favourites Radiohead and Nothing But Thieves.
