Sea Girls – Ready For More

It’s the semi dark main vocals that do it for me. They’re a Mr. Grey kind of sensitive and work perfectly well on the musical soundscape SEA GIRLS are, by now, well known for. It’s become a bit transparent what SEA GIRLS will be releasing next, yet I’m still enjoying their catchy and up beat sound. It is a warm blanket that protects you of the new and unknown. The band have been working hard the past couple of years and their work is paying off in the form of streams and fans. ‘Ready For More’ is taken from their forthcoming EP ‘Under Exit Lights’. The EP is due for release on the 7th of March and I’m curious to hear what the complete EP will sound like.

I’m a fan of the SEA GIRLS-sound, but am also afraid of hearing something that is no longer raising the bar of expectations. Have SEA GIRLS reached the roof of their potential? The band seem to honestly care about the meaning of their lyrics, which is what keeps me listening. However, there will be a point in time where all lyrics have been sung. Until then, I’ll be ok with repetitive lyrics – as long as I can chant along!

Singer Henry Camamile explains what the single is about “‘Ready For More’ is the bad apple of the EP. It looks and sounds sweet, but it’s basically staring into this abyss of nihilistic behaviour and being scared not to be able to change. It involves dark thoughts, anxiety, but ends in hope, positivity and optimism.”
