It’s been a year since Balthazar released their latest album ‘Fever’, even though it feels like that was only two weeks ago. I am more than pleased to hear a refreshing take on the Balthazar-sound in new single ‘Halfway’ that was released last week on Play It Again Sam. The Belgium formation have been on the road almost full time last year and are continuing the hype. It’s their recognisable sound that keeps their fans invested in the bands’ musical endeavours. Maarten and Jinte are the songwriters and vocalists behind Balthazar’s harmonies and intriguing musical compositions. ‘Halfway’ builds on what they have been doing so far and is the bridge between the past and the future. It brings a catchy, relaxing vibe that could be drowned out by other sounds but keeps a hold of the spotlight because of its surprising hooks.
The build up of the single makes it more of a sung story than a simple song, it’s great to wake up and start your day with, whatever time a day!
