North East-based indie alternative outfit Leopard Rays have released a banging, riffing new release in the form of ‘Daydream’. It’s the passion seeping through the vocals and the power in the drum beat that had me silent for a brief couple of seconds. The band have been in my sight since I saw them perform live at Head of Steam, as their energy on stage is inspiring and infectious. ‘Daydream’ is the lead single of their upcoming debut EP, one I hope to hear more progress on. The band has been releasing steadily good songs, however it would be great to hear a more progressive side of them and possibly something a bit less repetitive. It’s the indie band sound that has been over saturated on the radio and in Spotify-playlists, even though it still is one I really enjoy. When a song is well written, it’s hard not to sing and dance along!
Leopard Rays is a live band, one that brings their energy to the stage and leaves nobody unmoved. It’s their passion and persistence that gets me, and that inspires not only me but also bands they show bills with. I wasn’t hooked on the introduction of ‘Daydream’, but the song has been stuck in my head since the first time listening. I can’t wait to hear more of Leopard Rays, as their foundation is strong and their heads and hearts in the right place.
