Dream pop of the highest caliber, with a “we’ll figure it out ourselves”-feeling to it, is what I was looking for when I found Temples of Youth. Their latest shoegaze-fueled track is called ‘Suburbia’ and had me sucked into another world. Their combination of several genres make for a rather unique Temples of Youth-sound. Driven by hooks, melodies and heartfelt lyrics, the band are throwing heart and soul into their music. It’s what we hear on the nearly hypnotic new single. ‘Suburbia’ is a midnight drive into the darkest side of the city and might also be a part of their third EP due to be released next month!
The band previously got attention from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and supported Sundara Karma and Declan McKenna to name just a few. With their latest release the band is showing their progress and how they plan to keep improving their sound and position in the current musical landscape. I have high hopes and am happy I got a brief chat with the band before their big blow-up. Because that is bound to happen soon…
