Jools – Almost Famous

Fast paced new wave indie rock is what makes my heart beat faster and my feet move uncontrollably. Jools have released a new single and it’s just what I needed, something that is energetic, upbeat and passionate… With effects equal to those of a shot of caffeine on a Monday morning! Jools is for fans of Slaves, IDLES, Fontaines D.C. and comparable energetic punk bands.

Their new single ‘Almost Famous’ celebrates the existence of powerful women. With a personal narrative and a passionate short story, the band is shining a spotlight in the important women in all of our lives, to start with our mums. The concept of the track, however, is far wider, with a focus on the growing recognition for women in our society. “The future is female, and I look forward to it.” The Leicester-based punk outfit have been making wave since their debut ‘Hysterical Starving Naked’, a powerful thesis of the band’s sound. The band is spreading their stance on socialism, the use of social media and their political values through their music, it being an energetic and passionate message that needs to be heard.

If their nearly aggressive, fuzzy sound will achieve what they aim for is of course a question to which we don’t know the answer yet, however, achieved or not, they have definitely touched some hearts along the way!
