Indie pop-inspired singer songwriter FAYYE draws upon a life of musical influences that she has brought together in her new single ‘She’. It’s a dose of dream wave, mixed with her spot on angel-like vocals that draw you into a peculiar world of 90’s soul and pop of years ago. The London-based artist grew up playing piano and listening to soul and pop music, she has now given her own twirl to those memories and life experiences by creating her own music.
It’s her poetic style of writing that had me transfixed, and her way of combining jazz and folk but making it her own. FAYYE stood out to me because of her personality shining through in her music, it’s something I’m missing a lot when I hear generic sounds that seem to lack passion and energy. In ‘She’, FAYYE brings her influences together in the form of an uplifting story about “a woman with a fervent independence of spirit, who leaves people in her wake.” Today, FAYYE is releasing both ‘She’ and her debut EP.
