‘Not Dead Yet’, it’s what I think sometimes, when it feels like the weight of the world is resting on my shoulders, and when that happens I turn on the music. Lord Huron created the perfect and soothing yet uplifting sound for such a mood, with a hint at Elvis, ‘Not Dead Yet’ is a remarkably well-paced alternative pop song with hazy instrumental parts and a catchy beat from beginning till end.
The single comes with a mysterious video performed in the Whispering Pines studio, the video shows blurry times and long-lost musicians who previously occupied the studio merge with present day. It is as if the spirits of Whispering Pines return, not just on screen, but also through the speakers! ‘Not Dead Yet’ is part of the Alive From Whispering Pines series and makes me very curious to see what else has been performed and recorded as part of this series!
