The latest release of Dutch artist Cosmic Crooner is a wandering and Grease-esque 60’s inspired art pop song that I could listen to over and over again. With Last Shadow Puppets-like vocals and deliciously swooning compositions, the song is jam-packed with elements that I want to immerse myself in completely. ‘Spoiler Alert’ is Cosmic Crooner’s ‘new’ song and sound. Oh, isn’t the music from, and inspired by, the 60’s just wonderfully inspiring?!
On ‘Spoiler Alert’, Cosmic Crooner struggles with the endless stream of information as he waltzes through this 60’s instant pop classic. Cosmic Crooner is currently the most exciting artist within the Dutch musical landscape, in my humble opinion. No others are going back in time only to return with something still slightly better, naturally, as modern recording equipment is more refined, with more options, than it was and had back then. He introduced himself with thrilling singles ‘Tema di Filippo’ and and ‘Deep Down In Jazz’ and with ‘Spoiler Alert’ cements himself on our ones-to-watch-list.
